It was Sadao Yairi that passed away, sometime in the 1990's I believe. You certainly do have lots of questions~ I'll answer a few here.įirst, Kazuo Yairi is very much alive and well. : I am sorry for all these questions, I am just really interested in learning more about these fabulous guitars. Yairi pass away? Does this mean his signature on previous guitars make them more valuable? What is the process for the Yairi Company to name their guitars, i.e., 70, 71, 84, 85, etc.? I have also heard that some Yairi guitars are no longer made in Japan, but made in Korea or China? Is this true? If so, what year did this happen and on what models. They play better and sound better than my Gibson Song Writer Deluxe. I just recently bought two: a DY 71 and a DY 84.
